Opening of the ACB

The Opening

The Austrian Cochrane Branch was opened on Tuesday 14th December, 2010 at the Danube University Krems.

The opening was accompanied by a scientific symposium on the subject "Optimal decisions require knowledge" from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in a lecture hall in the Danube University Krems.

The following high-profile international speakers were part of the scientific symposium:

  1. Sir Iain Chalmers, UK Cochrane Centre
  2. Gerd Antes, University of Freiburg, German Cochrane Centre
  3. Wolfgang Gaissmaier, Max Planck Institute
  4. Ruth Gilbert, University College London
  5. Marcus Muellner, Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety

The presentations of all speakers have been recorded and made available online as slide casts in the Multimedia section of this website.

The official opening of the Austrian Cochrane Branch took place at 5:30 pm in the main auditorium of the Danube University Krems and all parties interested were invited. The team of the Austrian Cochrane Branch celebrated the opening with more than 100 international guests.
